Google review automation for a busy local business

Google review automation turns a task your staff forgets into a short routine they can repeat after every visit. Revuu sends a fair request, follows up once, watches for new reviews, and prepares a reply without taking control away from the owner.

What review automation actually does

Picture the end of a haircut. The customer pays, says thank you, and walks out. The barber intends to ask for a review but another customer is already waiting. By closing time, the moment is gone. Automation fixes the memory problem. The barber enters the customer's first name and email before starting the next appointment. That is the only repeated task.

Revuu waits three hours, when the customer is likely home, and sends a short email from the business. One button opens the correct Google review box. If nothing happens, one reminder goes out three days later. The system then stops. When Google shows a new review, Revuu alerts the owner and prepares a reply draft.

This is different from trying to automate Google reviews from beginning to end. Software can handle timing and repetition. It cannot decide what a customer should say, write a customer's review, or guarantee a higher rating. Those actions would turn a useful workflow into manipulation.

What you still control

The customer list

You decide who had a real business interaction. Revuu does not scrape contacts or message strangers. Every person should recognize the business and understand why the request arrived.

The message

A clear default is ready, but you can edit the wording. The best message is short, identifies the visit, and asks for honest feedback rather than a five-star rating.

Difficult replies

One-, two-, and three-star reviews always wait for approval. AI can draft a calm opening, but only you know whether the complaint is accurate and what remedy is reasonable.

Automatic positive replies

Pro can post replies to four- and five-star reviews after a delay. You choose whether that option is on and can turn it off whenever the drafts stop sounding like you.

The detailed guide to automating Google review responses shows where approval matters and how to keep drafts from becoming repetitive.

Setting it up

Start by typing the business name. Revuu shows matching Google listings with addresses so you can select the right one. That selection produces the direct review link. A plumber with a service-area business and a dentist with a street address follow the same process.

Next, connect the Google account that manages the Business Profile. This part is optional for sending requests. It is needed for monitoring reviews and publishing replies. The connection reads location details, reviews, and owner replies. It does not give Revuu permission to post customer reviews or rewrite the rest of your profile.

Finally, check the request text and send delay. The default delay is three hours, with one reminder after three days. Most owners should keep those settings during the trial. Changing five things before sending the first request makes it harder to tell whether the basic process works. The full three-step Google review setup explains what the customer sees at each point.

A counter business can also display a QR code. That works well when a regular customer offers to help or when an email address is not appropriate. The email workflow is better for consistent follow-up because the customer does not have to act while paying.

What it costs

Starter costs $19 per month for one listing with unlimited email review requests, reminders, and AI reply drafts. Pro is $39 and adds controlled automatic replies, custom AI tone and context, and a monthly report. Multi applies the same Pro workflow to up to three listings for $79.

There is no contract or sales call. The trial lasts 14 days, does not ask for a card, and unlocks every Pro capability. Compare the capability differences on the Google review software pricing page. The important question is whether staff can use the process during a busy week, not whether the business can stay below an arbitrary monthly allowance.

A tool that costs less but is ignored has no value. During the trial, watch whether requests are entered immediately after service, whether the email reaches customers, and whether reply drafts reduce the time spent staring at a blank box. Those three observations are more useful than a long feature checklist.

Rules you must follow

Ask people who were real customers. Do not upload a purchased list, send repeated reminders, or offer a reward for a positive rating. Ask for an honest review, not a five-star review. A discount offered only for praise can undermine trust and may violate platform rules.

Most importantly, send the same route to everyone. Do not ask for a private star rating first and direct only happy customers to Google. That is review gating. It creates a distorted profile and conflicts with Google's policy. Revuu does not include it.

A safe test: Would the customer still receive the Google link if you knew they were unhappy? If the answer is no, the process is filtering reviews rather than automating a fair request.

Honest requests can produce criticism. That is not a failure. A measured response shows future customers how the owner handles problems. Our guide to getting more reviews on Google covers ten compliant ways to improve volume without pressuring customers.
